Tuesday, July 5                      New RDs Start

 

9:00 a.m. – 10:00 a.m.  Coach and Trainee Welcome Session - Meet at new staff apartment (RD) or office (Central Staff)

 

10:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. Tour of Hall/Area (Coach & Supervisor co- facilitate)

Meet & Get office keys from area secretary, meet Area Team folks as available, learn how to card swipe, use keys, etc.

 

11:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.Meet your cohort of New Staff (Trish Anton facilitate)

Review July training schedule & expectations

12:00 p.m. – 1:00 p.m.  New Res Life Staff Lunch w/ Jack and Jim (location TBA)

 

1:00 p.m. – 2:30 p.m.    Business & Paperwork in Clark Hall (Payroll, BATS Service Desk, etc.)

 

2:30 p.m.  – 3:30 p.m.   Coach/Trainee Expectations & "Learning Contract"

 

3:30 p.m. – 5:00pm       Live-in staff needs -TMAs, apartment internet, take to get iCard if haven’t already, etc, New Central Staff meet with Supervisor

 

Wednesday, July 6

 

9:00 a.m. – 10:00 a.m.  Supervisor/New Staff Time – new staff’s office

 

10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.Welcome to the Area (ACs facilitate; all available area staff attend)

AC determines location in area

 

1:00 p.m. –  2:30 p.m.   Intro to office systems & Housing Computers for new staff – SDRP 2005 (facilitated by Trish Anton & Service Desk Rep)

 

3:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m.    Intro to Housing HR policies & procedures, Kronos (facilitated by Andi Cailles & Housing HR)

 

4:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m.    Coaching Time:  review of day’s computer lessons

 

 

Thursday, July 7

 

9:00 a.m. – 10:30 a.m.  New Staff - Supervision Lesson Plan Part I, SDRP 2009 (facilitated by Jason McKean & April Cooper)

 

11:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.Coaching Time – Supervision follow up tasks, systems, hall specifics

 

1:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m.    Office Time

  • Set up voice mail/email signature/Outlook permissions
  • Review position folder
  • Organize office (consult policy document on how long to keep files)
  • Review staff personnel files
  • Review hall folder on common drive
  • Complete supervision tasks from morning session

 

Friday, July 8

 

9:00 a.m. – 10:30 a.m.  New Staff – Academics at UI – PAR Carr Lounge (facilitated by Nathan Sanden)

11:00a.m. – Noon          New LLC RDs meet with PD; Non LLC RDs meet with Coach for academic follow up

 

1:00 p.m. - 5 :00 p.m.   Office / Supervisor 1-1 Time (Supervisors schedule)

 

5:00p.m.  – 7:00p.m.     Training Kickoff Social!  (Rooney House)
